Background

You will find the showroom and workshop of Designritter.com on Prinsesse Charlottes Gade in Nørrebro, Copenhagen.

Designritter.com is owned by furniture designer and interior architect David Ritter. David is from South Germany (Tübingen), but he moved to Copenhagen in 2010 after finishing his studies as Interior Architect from Mainz University of Applied Sciences.

Unique design

Designritter.com is inspired both by the clean lines and bright colors of new Nordic design as well as reusing materials and rethinking classic shapes. This combined with German thoroughness and David’s great experience within craftsmanship and wood work results in very distinctive furniture that we guarantee you’ve never seen elsewhere.

Designritter.com strives to produce sustainable furniture with great regard to the environment through redesign and reuse (e.g the desk of europallets), choice of material (OSB), and production methods.

Products and projects

Designritter.com particularly works with a special type of building material called OSB (oriented strand board). The wood plates are processed into tables, stools, closets, and cupboards – or whatever you need. The material is normally very coarse and rough but with the subsequent processing of designritter.com it appears smooth and inviting.

Besides furniture, designritter.com specializes in individual home solutions and remodeling such as new bathrooms, office remodeling, customized furniture (e.g. walk-in closets) and interior design (e.g of bars and restaurant).

Designritter.com also has a selection of own design of lamps and active speakers.

The furniture is handmade and of high quality and meticulous preparation. David Ritter produces (on request) all furniture in Copenhagen by himself. Larger projects are executed in cooperation with a local carpenter.

CPHmade Guided Tours featured in the Copenhagen Post

During the summer we’ve had quite the success with our initiative CPHmade Guided Tours. Collaborations with some of the best hotels in Copenhagen, and a strong support from customers has truly made CPHmade Guided Tours a success.
During the summer, we have made new friends at the Copenhagen Post. On a sunny day in May we invited a journalist from the Copenhagen Post to join us on one of our CPHmade Guided Tours, and now we’ve just realized that the initiative is featured in Copenhagen Post’s Summer Guide. We’d like to thank the Copenhagen Post for the kind words. The full article can be found right here in our “Press Department”.

DesignRitter to join CPHmade.

It’s been a while since we last had the opportunity of introducing you all to a new member of the CPHmade family. But today, we’re pleased to inform you that DesignRitter is now a part of our humble network.
DesignRitter is founded by the designer and interior architect David Ritter, which specializes in individual home solutions from a sustainable point of view.
From his small(!) workshop on Prinsesse Charlottes Gade, DesignRitter crafts and design a wide range of small furniture and accessories for the home.
The materials used for these designs are strictly chosen by their sustainable abilities, making materials like oriented strand board (OSB) and old europallets a DesignRitter favourite.
Stay tuned on the CPHmade blog for news about DesignRitter in the future.
